This bird does not make a grand entrance. I could have easily missed this opportunity, but my daughter caught it for me.
You can tell these lens were not focused properly. I had already put the camera away. This starter camera is not the one for this elegant bird. However, Livvy Catherine made every attempt to succeed at capturing this surprise.
A long-legged wader, this Great Blue Heron was caught in the shallows of the salt water harbor near downtown Nassau. It moved slowly as if fishing for dinner (or evading the unwanted attention brought on by our excitement.)
The water was calm with not much traffic at the end of the day. A better camera is in order for rare sightings like this one. It is painful to see such beauty and not be able to record it for nostalgia.
